National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) visits VAST

On the occasion of the state visit of the Delegation of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam, on September 26th, 2019, a delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) led by Prof. Acad. Chizhik S.A, the first Vice President of NASB, paid a working visit to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).

Joining the delegation were Mr. S. S. Scherbakov, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus; and S. M. Labetskiy, expert of State Committee for Science and Technology of Republic of Belarus.

Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh, President of VAST; Dr. Le Quynh Lien, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation; and Dr. Nguyen Trong Tinh, Head of the Institute of Applied Physics and Scientific Instruments welcomed the delegation.

At the working session, the two sides exchanged views on the bilateral cooperation situation over the past time and expected future cooperation in the fields of new materials and bioactive substances in agriculture, veterinary medicine and anti-cholera research on African pigs; new materials for industry such as grease, graphite electrodes; promoting auxiliary scientific and technological equipment for Vietnam's industry; and looking for Belarus technology for deep processing of Vietnamese minerals such as Bauxite, Titanium, Volfram, Potassium and rare earth.

Prof. Acad. Chizhik S.A asked VAST to continue participating in intergovernmental projects under the Protocol. Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh also proposed the tripartite cooperation between Vietnam - Laos - Belarus at the end of the year on the occasion of the Vietnamese delegation working visit to Belarus.

At the end of the working session, as Academician of NASB, Prof. Acad. Chizhik S. A awarded to Prof. Acad. Chau Van Minh a report on science and technology activities of NASB and an invitation to a meeting of the NASB Meeting at the end of 2019.
